CONFIDENTIALITY & SECURITY: We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to only those employees and agents who need to know the information in order to provide products and services to you. To protect your information, our policies and procedures include procedural, electronic and physical safeguards that comply with applicable laws to protect your personal information. Employees are required to follow policies and procedures when handling your personal information, and other firms that are utilized to bring services to you are also required to protect the confidentiality of any personal information they receive.
CATEGORIES OF INFORMATION JS COLLECTS: We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
1) Information we receive from you on applications, from other forms and documents and from conversations with you (such as your address, date of birth, Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number, occupation, income, assets and financial goals); and
2) Information about the services we provide to you and the transactions you do with us.
CATEGORIES OF PARTIES TO WHOM JS DISCLOSES: We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as described below:
1) To need-to-know employees in order to provide products and services to you;
2) To other need-to-know financial service providers and related vendors that have been contracted to perform services for us such as our clearing firm, investment companies (mutual funds) or asset managers;
3) To government entities or other third parties in response to subpoenas or other legal process as required by law or to comply with regulatory requests.
All of the personal information collected is used in the servicing of your account, i.e. to evaluate your financial needs and suitability, to determine which products and services will meet and enhance your financial goals, to process your requests to purchase and sale securities, to provide customer service, etc.
We also use this information to establish or maintain an account with our clearing firm, an unaffiliated third party. There are also instances in which your account and transactional information is shared within the clearing firm to perform services for you, as well as to other financial institutions, such as mutual fund companies, or to other vendors, such as those providing data processing. Any information disclosed to these third parties is used only to provide services as allowed by applicable law or regulation and as contractually agreed upon. Your information may be disclosed as required by law.
We do not sell, share or disclose your personal information to our affiliates or to any other nonaffiliated third parties except as described above.
INACTIVE AND CLOSED ACCOUNTS: We do not disclose information regarding former clients or regarding inactive or closed accounts except as required by law; therefore, if you decide to close your account or your account becomes inactive, our Privacy Policy to protect your non-public information continues to apply to you.
