Over one weekend in Greater Los Angeles, Atlanta Life joined community partners to support families through a two-day community giveback focused on food access and financial guidance. Across both days, the work centered on meeting immediate needs while also offering practical tools that families could take with them beyond the event.

The weekend began in Pasadena at the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena, Mackenzie Scott location, where the site was active from the start of the day. The main activation was a large-scale Goodr food drive, offering five different meal bag options that included fresh produce and non-perishable food items. Families moved through the space with care and intention, selecting what best met their household needs while volunteers worked steadily to keep the experience organized and welcoming.

Atlanta Life supported the event throughout the day, assisting where needed across the site. Our primary contribution focused on financial education. Alongside the food distribution, we provided financial guidance and distributed take-away financial literacy materials to community members. These resources were designed to be clear, practical, and useful in everyday life, offering support around budgeting, saving, and making informed financial decisions.

Our goal throughout the day was to support community wealth by pairing access to essential resources with education that creates opportunity. Food addressed an immediate need. Financial guidance offered tools for what comes next. Conversations with parents, caregivers, and community members were thoughtful and grounded in real experiences, with a focus on building confidence through small, manageable steps.

The second day continued this effort at Macedonia Baptist Church of Los Angeles, where Atlanta Life once again partnered with Goodr for another day of food distribution and financial resource sharing. The setting changed, but the intention remained the same. Families gathered, volunteers stepped in where needed, and the work unfolded with consistency and care.

Atlanta Life continued engaging with families throughout the second day, offering financial guidance alongside food distribution. Showing up across both days mattered. The continuity reinforced trust and reflected a commitment to being present rather than transactional. Each interaction added to a weekend defined by respect, follow-through, and shared effort.

We extend a sincere thank you to Bristol Myers Squibb, Goodr, Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena – Mackenzie Scott location, and Sodexo Magic for joining us in this effort and partnering to deliver meaningful support to families across Greater Los Angeles. Their collaboration and dedication made it possible to serve the community with care and coordination throughout the weekend.

Across both days, the giveback reflected what community support looks like in practice. It meant listening, collaborating, and meeting people where they are. It meant recognizing that access and education together can strengthen outcomes and create momentum for the future.

This two-day Greater Los Angeles community giveback weekend was defined by continuity and care. Food, financial guidance, and shared commitment carried from one location to the next, creating space for stability today and opportunity ahead. For Atlanta Life, the weekend reaffirmed our commitment to supporting families through education, access, and long-term confidence.
